How it works

The George design service is suited to projects big, small or anywhere in the middle. I will tailor a unique response to each project and focus on delivering a cohesive design that speaks to the space, the architecture and… well… you.

As the client, you can expect the process to follow a typical path.

  1. Site visit & brief

Together we go through your ideas for the design.  We discuss the budget and develop a detailed design brief.  I measure up the site and take notes on your gardens best features, soil profile, site orientation and identify any problem areas.

2. Sketch & design development

I present ways to achieve a great garden on your site. Together we explore the different features and possibilities of materials and plant selection. Only when you are happy do we begin the next step.

3. Detailed design & documentation

I draw and document the final design.  This details the garden features that deliver a beautiful space to live in and includes ways to construct the design details. I then complete a comprehensive plant list.

I work together with your preferred landscape company to make sure the design transforms into a garden ready for you to live in.

Provide advice by the hour

Ask me over and show me what you have planned.  I’ll help you refine the ideas then we hit the road to visit some of the best sellers in Melbourne.  You get a garden designed by you but developed with personalised advice and design know-how.
